Svetlana Shavrina was born on July 10, 1986, in Kuibyshev (now Samara), Soviet Union. She comes from the noble Michurin family. Her mother, Irina Shavrina, née Michurina, is a descendant of this lineage. Svetlana’s grandfather, Mikhail Michurin, relocated to Kuibyshev after the Second World War.
Svetlana is an Eastern European painter based in London, UK. She is a member of the Artists’ Trade Union and holds professional certification from Akoun (France).
Her education began at a Mathematics Gymnasium, followed by earning a Mathematics degree from Samara State University. Alongside her formal studies, Svetlana pursued creative development, attending a professional ballet school and later studying at Art School No. 1 for adults in Samara, Russia.
Her early works focused on town landscapes created with soft pastels on paper. Today, she prefers classic techniques, mainly working with oil paints or palette knives, using joyful colors and a warm palette to convey a sense of calm and inspiration in her artwork.
Svetlana’s paintings predominantly depict natural landscapes in a post-impressionist style, capturing the beauty of the world. As an experimental artist, she has created limited collections in abstract and psychedelic styles. Although she has painted only a few works in these genres, each piece holds deep emotional and soulful significance for her.
She has been included into the UNITED REGISTER of the PROFESSIONAL ARTISTS of the Russian Empire, the USSR, Russian emigration, Russian Federation and the republics of former Soviet Union (XVIII-XXI centuries).
